Sheep can keep grazing around and under the panels, which sit about 0.7m off the ground at their lowest point.
Landowners are paid a competitive rent per acre, index linked, for the full 40 years.
Our partnership with ESB Solar gives landowners an experienced, reliable tenant.
We handle the planning and grid applications. You take independent legal advice and receive a sign-up fee when the option agreement is signed.
Check my land
We meet you, walk the land and assess it for solar. That includes an initial planning check and a look at grid capacity nearby.

We prepare and lodge a planning application for the solar farm, using industry-leading consultants.

Once planning is lodged, we apply for a connection to the national grid.

With planning granted, a grid offer accepted and a power contract signed, building starts. Your 40-year lease begins with the first quarterly rent payment.

ESB Solar's asset management team sends you a welcome pack and runs the solar farm for the long term.
We currently list 25 projects, from early planning to construction. Four are being built now with ESB Solar.

In 2020 we signed an agreement with ESB Solar to partner on projects Harmony Solar had developed. The two companies now develop new projects together: over 25 so far, in 13 counties.
Approximate number of homes the partnership could supply with renewable electricity. That is over ten percent of Irish households.

Sheep and other livestock graze under the panels. The lowest edge sits about 0.7m above the ground.

Every site gets a new fence, a hedge and native planting, designed by landscape architects to screen the fence.

Our solar farms are monitored remotely. A maintenance crew visits about three times a year.

No lighting is needed on site. CCTV cameras face inward and cover the solar farm only.

Each planning application includes a landscape and visual impact assessment, with before and after photomontages.
